I agree. I think the move was really in character for Steven but I like the tenderness the situation was handled with. Like obviously they are too young, but the whole thing is Steven can't imagine the future. I think the lesson is to be patient and let life come to you.

I really like young Steven tho! His voice was adorable in season 1, he was a little chubby cut boy, and I hated how he had to grow up! He has more of low voice now! Where is that little adorable high voice from season 1 and 2! I wish he could never grow up. Even tho I like his outfit more is Steven Universe Future then Steven Universe. :/

What I don't think you guys understand is that the whole concept of "marriage" in this show isn't actual marriage. Steven wasn't talking about how he wanted to be married like Ruby and Sapphire, but how he wants a lifetime bond, a promise, a commitment, a faithfulness, a trust. Steven obviously knows they can't technically get married for obvious reasons, the whole thing is metaphorical.
i wonder why the creators decided to make steven propose to connie, like. they r kids but i think they should have made steven ask connie on a real date or ask her to be his girlfriend
